17th Annual Mesa Police Aviation Safety Fly-In and FAA Regional Helicopter Safety Seminar

Safety briefings from HAl and the NTSB, followed by community discussion and industry information booths.

Brief Description:
This year, the Mesa Police Aviation Section has partnered with the FAA Safety Team and Helicopter Association International to provide free safety training, in addition to an opportunity to connect with fellow aviators. A great opportunity to share best practices and learn strategies for mitigating risk. You can also visit the onsite industry booths.

HAI's Director of Safety Outreach, Stan Rose and HAI's Director of Safety, Steve Sparks will present "Helicopter Safety in Small Operations". This will include a discussion of Aeronautical Decision Making, managing startle factor, distraction management, current accident statistics, and USHST current focuses.

The NTSB will present on Rotorcraft Accident Causal Factors

Seating is limited; YOU MUST REGISTER ON FAASAFETY.GOV BY APRIL 14 so that we have an accurate headcount for catering!

0800-0900: Continental breakfast and socializing

0900-1230: Presentations from HAI and NTSB

1230-1400: Lunch and networking

Transportation to the Mesa Public Safety Training Facility will be provided (a 5 minute drive to the training facility).

If you plan to drive-in, exit Greenfield Rd. from the Red Mountain Loop 202. Drive south on Greenfield Rd., turn west on Virginia which turns into Norwalk and Quenton Drive; continue to the Mesa Public Safety Training Facility entrance on Quenton Drive.
