 nic\nSeptember 27, 28, 29\nTaos, New Mexico\n\n\nAnnually, NMPA presents a 
 basic mountain flying course in how to safely navigate \nmountainous areas.
  The ground school will give you the tools to understand and deal with the 
 \nadditional challenges of mountain flying. It includes three segments: Bas
 ic Mountain Flying, \nUse of Technology in Mountain Flying, and Survival, t
 aught by three different instructors.\nIn addition, you may elect to fly ov
 er a course designed to give you actual experience flying in \nthe mountain
  passes, landing at high altitude airports, and flying with an experienced 
 \nmountain flying instructor. Successfully completed, this will also earn y
 ou a Biennial Flight \nReview (BFR). Some insurance companies also will dis
 count your premium for attending this \nsafety clinic.\nGROUND SCHOOL: Frid
 ay 0900 – 1800 in the meeting room at Old Martina's Restaurant, Taos.\nLunc
 h and dinner on your own - you can purchase lunch and dinner at Old Martina
 ’s, one of the better \nrestaurants in Taos. They are providing us with a m
 eeting room.\nFLIGHTS: We will fly Saturday and Sunday. Two route options a
 re available or you may elect both. \n Flight Option 1 will be approximate
 ly 3 hrs and will involve 7 passes and 5 airports.\n Flight Option 2 will 
 be a more extensive route into the Rockies.\nFlights are scheduled on a fir
 st come, first serve basis, so if you need to fly Saturday, reserve early!\
 nMATERIALS PROVIDED: You will receive a pre-course study guide and the flig
 ht plan. You will receive Sparky \nImeson's Mountain Flying Bible and a cou
