  Johnson Valley Shared Use Area will be temporarily closed to the public Au
 gust 1-30, 2018 while the Marine Corps conducts training to support a large
 -scale exercise.\n\n\nThe closure period will include the time required to 
 ensure the Shared Use Area is clear of recreation activity prior to trainin
 g and to confirm the land is clear of hazards prior to reopening the land f
 or public access.\n\n\nThe Bureau of Land Management (BLM) states that over
  43,000 acres within the adjacent Johnson Valley OHV Recreation Area will r
 emain open to the public during the closure of the Shared Use Area and off-
 road enthusiasts can also enjoy the nearby Stoddard Valley OHV Open Area.\n
 \n\nThe public is reminded that motorized recreation use in the area surrou
 nding the Johnson Valley OHV Recreation Area is limited to signed designate
 d routes.\n\n\nThe Marine Corps will continue to implement robust public ou
 treach to ensure the public is informed of the temporary change in land use
 .\n\n\nAdditionally, representatives from the Marine Corps and the Bureau o
 f Land Management will host a Resource Management Group meeting about land 
 use in the Shared Use Area on April 14, 2018.\n\n\nThe purpose of the meeti
 ng is to communicate the Marine Corps' plan to conduct a large-scale exerci
 se August 1-30, 2018.\n\n\nInformation concerning temporary land closures o
 f the Johnson Valley Shared Use Area and public safety information will be 
 discussed with attendees.\n\n\nAll members of the public are welcome to att
 end. The meeting will take place at the Lucerne Valley Community Center fro
