WITH THEIR LEVEL OF PROFICIENCY (BASIC, OR ADVANCED).\n\n\nAn electron
ic flight bag such as Foreflight and Garmin Pilot can greatly increase both
situational awareness and safety but only if the pilot is proficient in th
eir use. Attempting to learn the application while you are flying the airpl
ane has the exact opposite effect and can be dangerous. This workshop is in
tended to make you familiar with the application so that it is an aid in th
e cockpit and not a distraction.\n\n\nPreflight planning is the first step
in a successful and safe flight. Electronic Flight Bags can simplify the pr
ocess of preflight planning and bring most of the information you need such
as runway lengths, fuel required, expected weather, and other vital inform
ation to one place. This workshop will teach you how to use the EFB to effi
ciently plan your intended flights.\n\n\nOnce in the air, situational aware
ness is the key to the successful completion of the flight. Learn how the E
FB can bring traffic and weather into your cockpit and help you avoid midai
r collisions and inadvertant flight into IMC, one of the most deadly mistak
es pilots can make - even those with an instrument rating. In addition, you
r facilitator will cover overall use of the EFB in all phases of flight.\n\
n\nRunway incursions continue to be a significant problem for the GA commun
ity. Come learn how the aviation applications covered in this workshop can
help, so you do not become the next runway incursion statistic.\n\n\nPilot
airspace deviations, including pilots 'busting' TFRs, are another area of c
oncern for the GA community. The aviation applications covered in this work
shop can provide a significant increase in situational awareness with respe
ct to airspace. Learn how to make use of these tools to ensure you are comp
lying with airspace requirements.\n\n\n \n\n\n \n\n\nEqual Access
Information:\nThe FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) is committed to providing equ
al access to this meeting/event for all participants. If you need alternati
ve formats or services because of a disability, please communicate your req
uest as soon as possible with the person in the “Contact Information&
rdquo; area of the meeting/event notice. Note that two weeks is usually req
uired to arrange services.\n\n\n \n\n\nCredit Applicability:\n1 Credit

edit for Master Knowledge Topic 2\n
