 y Sponsor(s):\nThe Goodyear Air Traffic Control Manager, Phoenix/Goodyear A
irport management, and the FAA Safety Team would like to thank Lufthansa Av
iation Training for providing a meeting venue as well as their support of t
his Action Team meeting. This event would not be possible without the activ
e participation and collaboration amongst air traffic control, airport mana
gement, and airport users.\n\n\nPre-registration is strongly encouraged to
help the facilitators in planning sufficient seating and handout materials.
\n\n\nRunway incursions are a major factor in aviation safety. While many t
hings have been done to reduce the accident rate in General Aviation and th
e Air Carrier Industry, both sides of the aviation house are still experien
cing far too many runway incursions. This could be the result of "Read back
  - Hear back" issues, poor airport signage, pilot inattention/knowledge, ex
pectation bias, or a combination of factors. Runway safety is a major conce
rn for all pilots and if you have been around aviation for a long period of
time you have probably seen some close calls on the runways and taxiways,
or even been involved in some yourself.\n\n\nPilot airspace deviations cont
inue to be a major risk in the national airspace system. To reduce the chan
ce that you might be involved in an airspace deviation incident, you are hi
ghly encouraged to take an on-line learning center course such as ALC 42, A
LC 154, and ALC90 on www.faasafety.gov, or search the learning library for
associated guidance on airspace incursions. Remember, safe and prudent airm
en have superior situational awareness and have a plan to keep it that way.
\n\n\nThanks! A message from your local FAASTeam.\n\n\nEqual Access Informa
tion:\nThe FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) is committed to providing equal acces
