SUMMARY:Payson Fly-In
LOCATION:Payson (KPAN) airport, located a short 49 NM Northeast of KDVT
DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Payson Fly-In(our fly in air camping gathering)October 9-11Let's face it...
2020 has been a lousy year for flying and just about everything else.
Out here in the wilds of Arizona we have about had our fill of not flying w
ith all the ungodly hot weather plus the COVID stuff around, so it is defin
itely past time to "shake off" all the negative events that we have all end
ured lately, pull out airplanes out ot their hangars and just start having
fun again! On October 9-11 we are hosting a fly-in and air camping wee
kend at the Payson Regional Airport (KPAN) in the cool pines of Northern Ar
izona.  On Saturday, lunch is on your own so bring a picnic lunch or t
he Crosswinds Cafe on the ramp is open.  Saturday night, we will be ho
lding our traditional Dutch oven potluck with everybody sharing their favor
ite camp food favorites.  Bring a main dish or side dishes to share!&n
bsp; At 6, we have a real treat as our traditional sing along around the ca
mpfire will be hosted by "Six Gal N Hat", a local country/folk/bluegrass ba
nd consisting of Mom, her four daughters and her son.  They are really
talented and put on a heckuva show!  Don't worry...we will be taking
all precautions for social distancing, etc. for the weekend.  Be sure
to bring your lawn chairs and your appetites! The Payson (KPAN) a
irport is located a short 49 NM Northeast of KDVT and sits 5,200 MSL (above
all the desert heat and haze) in the cool, wooded pines of Northern Arizon
 a.  It has a nice, long paved runway, cheap AvGas, lots of free campin
g sites right off the runway, hot showers, flush toilets and fire pits with
free firewood.  All that, plus the million dollar views of the Mogoll
on Rim! It's a great way to shrug off the "blahs" of this lousy year a
nd start celebrating our freedom of flight.  We have insured that all
distancing and health protocols will be met while still having a good time
with old friends. Come join us! For further info or to courtesy R
