I am pleased to say that, as I write this during the last week of February, there are no fatal accidents to report. The new year – CY-2023 – is off to a good start. Irony of ironies, while doing a safety seminar down at Ryan Airport on January 21st, there was an accident at the airport during the program. Fortunately, no one was hurt, except for maybe the pilot’s ego. It appeared to be a ground loop involving a tail dragger. If you have been following my articles, you obviously know that CY-2022 was NOT a good year, with 8 fatal accidents involving Arizona-based pilots, but none of them involved any APA members that I know of. Keep up the good flying, guys!
